Like most Starcraft players, I like to use Terran because they can build structures faster than the other species. I can set up defenses and make attack units that are needed to launch an assault at the enemy. When playing this game, you should always remember that time ticks as you build structures and anytime soon your enemies will launch attack. So, just like in racing games, you should be fast in order not to waste any precious time. Here are some things which I do so I can launch an attack immediately.
Once the game starts, I immediately send out about 10 SCVs to collect minerals. As soon as I have enough minerals, I build another SCV which I use to make a barracks. Then, I assign another SCV to build a supply depot. I build every structure close to my command center. When one of the SCVs finishes the supply depot, I send it off to build another barracks. This is also the time when I start producing Marines at my barracks. I always keep my SCVs busy, so when one of them finishes a task I send it off to gather more minerals or to build another structure.
Then, I start producing Marines at my barracks. I use some of the Marines on a reconnaissance mission to scout the map. I usually look for more minerals and suitable places to build structures. After I finish building all the essential things that are needed in this game, I begin building some bunkers. I usually put them near my base and close to the minerals.
Once those tasks are complete, then it’s time to build a Refinery on some Vespene gas. After this is completed, I can now make an academy. I make sure to do some upgrading once I’ve finished this task. I like to make Firebats too because they are extremely effective against the Zerg.
Now that I have all the structures built, I can make all the units that I need for an assault. It’s only a matter of time before I can attack the enemy with a combination of Marines, Firebats, and Siege Tanks. This strategy may need a lot of resources, but for me that doesn’t matter because it’s very effective. In this game, it’s always better to be the first on the offensive.
